LAMB: You had an afternoon nap today which hardly ever happens anymore. I took this opportunity to do my creepy mummy thing, I lay down next to you and studied your features intently. I wanted to make a mental record of exactly how you were in that moment. Realising it may be the last time for a long while that I'd be able to do this I felt extra pressure to take it all in. I meditated on your impossibly long eyelashes, the sweet curl gently resting on your neck and your chubby two (soon the be three) year old cheeks that I desperately wanted to squeeze. Why must time pass so quickly, Lamb?

  1. I know this feeling all too well... hoping it slows down as much as possible! Gorgeous light here - and even more beautiful subject :)

  2. I do the creepy Mummy thing all of the time. I love watching my babies sleep. I even hoped in to bed with the eldest for a cuddle the other morning and watched her slumber. Tamika is also 21, so the creepy Mum thing never ends, you just love them more and more. Yet you get less chances for sleepy cuddles.

  3. Oh, you just spoke to my heart.. I put my son to be about an hour ago but when he called to me 20 minutes ago I did something I never do.. instead of putting him back to bed, I got him out to watch a movie and cuddle. Sometimes you just have to lap them up. These days feel so fleeting- even when we're smack dab in the middle of them.
